Fashion show is an excellent form of exhibiting ones creation. Models are made to catwalk the ramp wearing the latest creations of the designer which should be created keeping in mind the season and trend. The target will be existing customers as well as potential customers who may be absolute stranger. Maximum media coverage, print as well as electronic is ensured to built a good reputation and brand name.

Fashion Show Management: - 

Selecting venue

First select the proper venue for the show. The venue should be a happening place in town, as the hi-funda clients you will be calling will not come to a normal place. The venue should be according to the customers you are inviting. If you are calling middle class invites then select the three star hotel or a pub. But if you are calling hi-class and celebrities invites always select a five or a seven star hotel. The venue should be big enough that it should accommodate all your invites easily after building up the stage and making all decorations. If you have a low budget always select a pub as sound cost is saved, Sitting arrangements is not at all necessary, less lights are required etc.  Try to get venue as a sponsor this may reduce your basic investment.

Choreographer and models: - Select a proper choreographer and best of the models. Always keep in mind that the models are those who after wearing your designs should enhance the charm of the designs. This can be done only if the models are good looking and have proper figure and height. Try to take few well-known models to attract media and guests. Choreographer is the most important person in the show. Try to find the best choreographer according to your budget. He may guide you in selecting models, Stage design, songs, backdrop, light arrangements etc. Make a proper contract with the models and choreographer keeping in minds the rehearsal and trial dates.

Sponsors: - First make a proper list of sponsor you might me approaching.  A proper file containing proper information about your past experiences, theme of the show, choreographer, models, venue expectation from the sponsors, mileage you are giving them etc should be printed in a very attractive manner and presented in front of the sponsors. Try to convince them that you are giving them much more than what they are sponsoring. Collecting sponsorships when your name is not known in the market is the toughest job. Make a proper contract with the sponsors.

Designs: - The designs, which you manufacture for the show, should be of perfect size of the models, according to the season and trend. The colors of the designs should be selected in such a way that they should look good in the lights you are using during the show. Proper accessories like jewelry, footwear etc should be chosen.

Rehearsals and trials: - At least a week prior to the show dress trial should be taken. Proper fittings should be made. If accessories are nor matching they should be changed. If a certain garment does not suit to a certain models exchange her garment with the appropriate model. If the models are new take at least eight rehearsals as they are to be trained entirely. Experienced models may require one or two rehearsals. Always call the models for the entire day of the show, and make proper arrangements of their food and rest, so that they do not have to go out.  A dress rehearsal should be taken prior to the show.

Stage: - Stage should be very attractive. It should be covered with a proper hard material. As the models walking on the ramp may fall if the stage is oft at any corner. Avoid use of cloth on the stage.

Lights: - Proper lights are very necessary for a good show. All the corners of the ramp should get good light. The intensity and colors of lights should be properly selected keeping in mind the colors and textures of the designs. Follow light is the must. The intensity of the lights should be adjusted throughout the show according to the designs otherwise the show may look flat.

Sound: - Sound plays a very important role in the fashion show. It’s the role of the choreographer to understand the theme of the show and designs and fix the music accordingly. A proper DJ is required who can play the music as per the requirement of the choreographer.

Make-Up and hairstyles: - A proper makeup person and the hairstylist are required who can do makeup and hairstyles according to the designs. All the exposed parts of the models should be covered with proper makeup and glitter.

Invitation Card: - The invitation card should be very nicely designed keeping in mind the theme of the show. The names of all the sponsors should be listed according to the type of sponsorships given. The best way to deliver the cards is through courier. Don’t forget to give a personal invitation to medias and celebrities.

Backdrop: - Backdrop should be very attractive and the designers name should be most visible factor. All add your sponsor’s name. The backdrop is the one, which is photographed the most so it should be the best. While selecting the design and color of the backdrop keep in mind that the color of garments should not mix with it.

E.g. If most of the garments are blue don’t make a blue backdrop as the color of garment will mix with the color of the backdrop.

Green room: - Green room or the dressing room should be big enough for all the models, dresses makeup-person, backstage workers etc to fit in comfortably. It should be well equipped with mirrors, clothes rack, proper lightings etc. It is mostly made behind the backdrop. It should have separate sections for male and female models. No outsider should be allowed inside the green room.

Backstage workers: - These should the most energetic guys and girls who have a proper knowledge of costumes. Keep one backstage worker for each model. Keep in mind that for female model there should be a female backstage person and for a male model there should be a male. They should take proper care of the clothes and hang the clothes as soon as models remove them.

Compeer: - The compeer is the person who announces about the designer and his clothes while the show is on. There are two types of compeering a backstage and On -stage compeering, For backstage compeering there can be any one who is good at talking or he designer himself. But for On-stage compeering there should be a beautiful female with sexy looks or a handsome guy.

Sequences: - The show should be divided into different sequences keeping in mind the basic theme of the show. Garments in each sequence should be related to one other in one or different ways like: - material, color, design etc.

Finale:- The Finale is the climax of the show when the designer comes with a  models. The designer should always come out with the well-known model or a celebrity guest. The remaining models should stand at the background.
